A/PrOF ROSS ROBERTS-THOMSON
Associate Professor Ross Roberts-Thomson is a cardiologist, international expert in valvular cardiologist and the Head of Cardiology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He went to medical school at the University of Adelaide during which time he also completed a Bachelor of Medical Science with first class honours. He was president of the Australian Medical Students’ Association, and has been awarded the CPMEC Australasian Junior Doctor of the Year in 2011, Churchill Fellowship in 2012, and the RACP Trainee of the Year in 2017. His PhD was in complex mitral valve disease and undertook fellowship both in Australia as well as at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, one of the few heart valve centres of excellence in the world. He continues to supervise research fellows, contribute to national guidelines, and advise the government on TAVI and transcatheter valve therapies.
