A/Prof Johan Verjans is an academic cardiologist and clinician-scientist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, with a research focus spanning cardiovascular medicine, molecular imaging, digital health and medical artificial intelligence. He has held major leadership roles including Deputy Director of the Australian Institute for Machine Learning and AI platform leader at SAHMRI, and has established a multidisciplinary medical machine learning group bringing together clinicians, biomedical researchers, engineers and computer scientists. His work has been published across leading clinical and technical venues, and he is internationally recognised for translating machine learning and advanced imaging methods into clinically relevant healthcare innovation.
