Cilla Haywood is a geriatrician and obesity physician working at Austin Health and the Virtual Emergency Department. She is an honorary clinical associate professor in the department of critical care at the University of Melbourne. She has extensive experience in geriatric medicine in most settings, but is particularly interested in emergency, acute and perioperative settings. She has led the evaluation of the geriatric emergency department initiative at Austin Health and is an active researcher in pre operative shared decision making and patient reported postoperative outcomes. She is experienced in the management of obesity in older and medically complex patients. She is passionate about health equity, social justice and value-based health care. She lives in the inner north of Melbourne with her husband, young son and rescue Staffy.
