WELCOME FROM THE 2025 ANZSGM CONVENORS
We were delighted to extend our warmest welcome for the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine Annual Scientific Meeting (2025 ANZSGM)
We were proud to host speakers and delegates for the ANZSGM Annual Scientific Meeting June 10th - 13th 2025. The conference theme, “Illuminating Dementia: from Care to Cure" explored the dementia journey from diagnostic strategies to emerging treatments.
International keynote speaker Professor Maria Eriksdotter from the Karolinska Institute whose research focus is cell biology in Alzheimer’s disease and factors that affect progress and survival based on data from the world's largest quality records on dementia diseases (SveDem). The Australasian keynote speaker Professor Susan Kurrle from the University of Sydney whose research and practice interests centre on dementia, frailty, successful ageing, and intergenerational programs.
Sydney is a city of world-famous attractions and brilliant beaches. Delegates joined us at the International Convention Centre Sydney situated near a range of accommodation options with the lively city centre, stunning harbour and the dining and retail district of Barangaroo only a short walk away. Our natural wonders extend beyond our harbour and beaches to the nearby mountains and national parks. Alternatively, delegates enjoyed the cultural and built heritage of art galleries, museums, theatres and of course the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. With world class and diverse dining experiences and coinciding with Vivid light show, it created a stunning backdrop for the conference dinner.
